After my immigration to Los Angeles 7 years ago, one of my main goals was to become acquainted with this city as quickly as possible. Sharing my adventures with both my social circle in Iran and the newly created one in the US seemed impossible until I learned how to overcome these geographical barriers in the virtual setting of social media. Through landscape photography, I was able to meet both of these goals without realizing that my photography skills were also improving in the process. From heavily Instagram-filtered pictures of butterfly wings on the walls of LA to minimal intimate hidden gems that became the settings of my favorite memories in this city, I always enjoy finding a new angle and a new point of view for landscape photography. These skills allowed me to take a step further and participate in photography projects or even create material for my digital designs. The boost of confidence from photography piqued my curiosity to depict visual stories instead of just writing about them.
